Adoption Ambassadors

Do your foster homes play any type of role in finding adopters for the pets they are caring for? The ASPCA recently completed a study testing the idea that empowering foster homes to find adopters and adopt out their foster pets is a valid strategy for increasing adoptions and saving more lives.

The data they collected revealed that return rate for pets adopted out by their foster families was significantly lower and that the foster homes were reaching a pool of new adopters who might not have considered visiting a shelter to adopt.

Very exciting information! You can read more about their work here: https://www.aspcapro.org/adoption-ambassadors-resources-1

Do your fosters currently help place the pets they’re caring for?  If not, would you consider letting them after seeing the results of this study? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
