Petfinder is excited to share a grant opportunity from our friends at Purina Cat Chow and Petfinder Foundation. The Purina Cat Chow “Building Better Lives” program was created to improve the lives of cats through Rescue, Nutrition, and Adoption. This year they helped with much-needed renovations and donations to several organizations that support and help cats find forever homes.
In a recent social media campaign, Cat Chow called for cat adoption stories using the hashtag #myrescuestory. When they reached 1,500 stories, a $50,000 donation was made to Petfinder Foundation. That donation has been turned into 50 $1,000 grants to help cat adoptions through increased advertising or marketing efforts, or subsidized costs of cat care for reduced fee adoptions.
To apply for this cat-specific grant opportunity from Petfinder Foundation, please complete the application at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CatChow by Sunday, October 19.
The year’s initiative is building on the 2013 Purina Cat Chow “50 Years. 50 Shelters.” program that touched the lives of more than 13,200 cats through four shelter renovations; delivered more than 12,000 pounds of Purina Cat Chow brand cat food and 8,000 cat care supply items; and gave a total of $75,000 in cash donations to 50 shelters.
In 2014 and on top of the $50,000 donation, The Purina Cat Chow “Building Better Lives” program supported an additional 50 shelters nationwide – one in every state – by donating up to $275,000 in renovations, adoption support and product and monetary donations.
