November is Adopt-A-Senior-Pet Month as well as a month for giving thanks.
Adoptable senior pets are near and dear to me. One of my own dogs, Linda, was adopted as a senior from Animal Alliance of New Jersey. As a senior pet parent, I’m especially thankful for support for aging pets. Innovations like Purina® Pro Plan® Bright Mind™
Adult 7+™ help us continue our relationship into
Linda’s golden years.
In development for over 10 years, Purina discovered Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) from enhanced botanical oils could be used as an additional energy source for the brain in dogs age 7 and up. This nutritional discovery promotes memory, attention and trainability in dogs, leading to more interaction, interest and ability to adapt.
These are all important factors in quality of life, especially in adoptable senior dogs making connections with new families.
In Linda, we have seen the changes first-hand since we began feeding her Bright Mind™ over the summer. She looks healthy and alert. She seeks out more affection from us and our other dog.
Senior formulas account for only 7% of dog food sales. Remind your adopters to adjust their pet’s nutrition as they age, whether they are adopting a puppy, a senior pet or someone in between.
