Weekly roundup to help you and your adoptable pets

by Kristen

Dear Petfinder Member,

First and foremost, we hope this finds you healthy and safe!

Below is your weekly digest of information and resources to help support you and your adoptable animals during these uncertain times.

These weekly updates will help share some of the best ideas, tools and resources from around the animal welfare community.

Need help telling fact from fiction when it comes to fundraising? Then check out this advice from Scott Koskoski (from The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement). In this “5-minute read” he lays out “key steps you can take today to raise funds and rally the community.”

Looking for foster volunteers?
The GreaterGood‍.org is “compiling a list of shelters and rescues looking for foster families, and matching those groups with fostering volunteers from our national community.” Just fill out this quick survey so they can better understand your needs and location.

Additionally, we saw on Maddie’sFund.org that “The Shelter Pet Project has created some light-hearted graphics to help recruit foster caregivers.” You can use the images free of charge to “spread the word about fostering.”

Keeping Pets with their People
During this time, helping to keep pets in their homes is more important than ever. Adopt‑A‑Pet has a great collection of resources that can help pet parents do just that. If rehoming their pet is the only option, Adopt‑A‑Pet’s Rehome feature can help individuals in your community safely place their pet into a loving home.

Curbside Adoption
We liked Southampton Animal Shelter’s approach to adoptions through social distancing! They will meet adopters curbside to introduce them to the pet, and bring all of the pet supplies too! Learn more here!

We’d love to hear from you!
