Online Webinar – Facebook for Veterinary Professionals
For the second year in a row, the ASPCA’s national Meow For Now campaign is focused on getting more kittens into foster homes and helping shelters take their foster programs to the next level.
About this Webinar
The kick-off webinar will be held February 20, noon EST, and the campaign will launch on March 20 in time for kitten season. The field-facing component of the campaign will give organizations what they need for a thriving foster program, while the public-facing component will drive more kitten foster volunteers to local shelters and rescues.
Neonatal kittens pose a unique challenge for animal shelters as one of the most vulnerable and fragile animals that come through our doors. Through lifesaving efforts, shelters are increasingly able to care for and save these tiny shelter residents. Learn how one shelter, Placer County Animal Services, has tackled this challenge through an innovative and creative solution.
Learn how the ASPCA’s Los Angeles Pee Wee Foster Program used online orientation to train more than 400 foster volunteers to care for nearly 3,000 kittens in two years. The program, which has no adoption center or clinic of its own, thrives through innovation that includes programs such as an on-deck foster system. The result: A more-than-doubled kitten live release rate from 2016 to 2018!
You’ll discover how to:
• Host online foster training sessions
• Create an on-deck foster program
• Use some tools not typically thought of to increase your lifesaving
Suited For: Anyone looking to create a more effective training program for potential foster caregivers and keep them engaged in the program once they are on board.
