Cat Depot rescued many cats during the historic flooding that impacted South Carolina. Cat Depot applied for a Disaster grant from the Petfinder Foundation to help enable them to participate in rescue efforts and provide immediate medical care to cats like Myrtle. Perkins Animal Control’s aging heating system was not able to sufficiently heat their shelter during one of the coldest winters on record. Perkins Animal Control applied for a Disaster grant from the Petfinder Foundation and with these funds was able to purchase infrared heaters and the installation of electrical outlets for their shelter. Cody, a sweet Pitbull mix taken in by Perkins Animal Control, enjoyed the warmth of their shelter and was soon adopted in a very loving home.
Quality of Life – Improving the quality of life of pets while they are in shelters or with rescue groups makes them happier, healthier and more adoptable. Grants in this category include enrichment products, training, pet food, vaccines, sheltering, and general operating funds. Find out more and apply for a quality of life grant.
