If a disaster or emergency affects your animal shelter or rescue group, there are resources to support you. These organizations offer grants and other support that can help shelters and rescue groups recover in the wake of a disaster.
What Resources are Available?
The Petfinder Foundation provides cash grants to Petfinder members during times of natural or man-made emergencies. Funds may be issued within 24 hours after you complete a simple online grant application and can be used to cover staff overtime and other operational expenses incurred during times of disaster. You can also apply for a disaster grant to aid with recovery if your facility has been damaged or you need to replace essential supplies.
Purina® works with Rescue Bank® to provide food donations that support the needs of animal welfare organizations and communities nationwide. Rescue Bank primarily serves smaller groups with limited resources, increasing their visibility and providing access to supplies for communities affected by disasters.
